Skiing

  • by

I love skiing. Its probably my favorite thing in the world. It’s part of why I am living in Lake Tahoe. I have spent the past few years working to improve on a ski mountaineering progression. I am now skiing expert lines in California and elsewhere. I ski about 50/50 in the backcountry, and also in bounds at resorts like Kirkwood, Heavenly and Squaw.

Heavenly’s Mott Canyon in Lake Tahoe.

Ascending uphill on skis using ‘Alpine Touring’ skis which can convert between uphill and downhill modes. This was taken on a two day overnight traverse from Sugar Bowl resort to Squaw Valley in March 2019.

Skiing and the outdoors are really important to me because they give a chance to set and achieve goals, and always work to get better. It keeps me healthier and happier, and better recharged to go back to town and do some work.
